In order to make the graph more interesting, we have compared the term “digital marketing jobs” with the term “internet marketing jobs”. This way, we are able to indicate the ubiquity of the term digital that goes beyond the narrower term internet and encompasses it. According to the following graph by Google Trends we can see, in the opinion of Google as well, that the demand for jobs in digital marketing is constantly growing.
4.DID YOU KNOW THAT AMERICANS ARE FOR THE FIRST TIME SPENDING MORE TIME USING MOBILE DEVICES THAN WATCHING TELEVISION?

The simple reason is because it indicates an unstoppable trend in further digitalization of our lives and creation of new habits that previously did not exist. A new era requires new professionals – we would like to add.
Nadalje, ugledna agencija Nielsen govori nam da 84% potrošača koristi svoje mobilne uređaje kao dopunski zaslon prilikom gledanja televizije.
5. DID YOU KNOW THAT GRADUATING IN DIGITAL MARKETING MEANS HAVING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU VERY EMPLOYABLE IMMEDIATELY AFTER GRADUATION?
Relevant research indicates that employers in the field of marketing face major challenges in the recruitment of talents in digital marketing. There are simply not enough of them. The research conducted in 2013 by the European Association of Communication Agencies EACA shows that digital experts are very much in demand and are in fact even more sought after than strategic marketing experts who are considered exclusive due to the large amount of knowledge and experience they must have in order to meet the high standards of such jobs.
In order to confirm these trends, the most popular Croatian digital culture portal Netokracija in cooperation with the leading Croatian job portal MojPosao conducted a survey on jobs in digital marketing which only managed to sustain the results of the above mentioned European research.
6.TO GRADUATE DIGITAL MARKETING MEANS TO OBTAIN CONFIRMED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY EMPLOYERS
Employers in the field of digital marketing would be the happiest to see the knowledge in digital marketing standardized and certified, or translated in order to obtain a formal framework that could additionally guarantee the quality of knowledge. At the time this text is being written there are very few study programs in the European Union that cover the field of digital marketing formally and what is more important with quality. Without a shred of false modesty we would be happy to point out that the study of digital marketing at Algebra University College is the best response to the needs of the labor market in digital marketing that is able to offer formally acquired knowledge. This is already recognized by Croatian employers. The fact that we have signed agreements with important digital marketing agencies in Croatia regarding student internships speaks in favor of the above mentioned.
We would also like to point out significant conclusions of the Digital Marketing Talent Report conducted by OMI that indicate the lack of standardization concerning digital marketing knowledge and the current fact that job candidates basically evaluate themselves while at the same time “inflating” their actual knowledge.
The surveyed employers indicated the following:
• There is a lack of industry standards and a lack of consistent ways of assessing job applicants
• Without specific and objective measuring methods the industry will continue to experience a lack of talent in digital marketing
• Applicants will continue to face difficulties when differentiating themselves from competitors
